This is a blog in the sign of art. My art. Mostly. Silliness may occur. This blog may be suddenly updated every Thursday and Sunday. Probably later than sooner on those days

Always bring a less emotional person
Now, here is yet another in class project. Finish an illustration in a
couple of hours! Yay! Why am I hearing the countdown/theme/whatever from
24? Anyway, this time it was about funeral Tips: This time we had to do
one of the 11 tips on what a
funeral director doesn't tell you. I chose number 10: Always bring
another person who is not in emotional upheaval (or something like
that).

Plenty o comics stuff
Here's another post with some stuff for the comic I'm working on. As
you'll notice, there is a new character here as well as a little
redesign of an old one, Grimley. Actually, there is a fourth character
on here too. Though, not completed, the cartoony style he is painted in
will be close to the final style of the comic, as it'll fit for the
story.
Also, check out my website if you're interested.

Char-Cracica-Caraca-CARICATURES!
We have this thing at school called the Illustration Student Collective
(ISC) where we meet up and do things together to further enhance the
brother, and sister, -hoodness amongst us illustrators. Sometimes we do
homework, other times we have a visiting artist. This time we did
caricature gestures of ourselves. It had a great laugh, slappin’ our
knees and perhaps even wipin’ away a giddy tear.
Also, website, check it out!

More of the same
Here's more of the same. I do have more drawings than this, like another character done, but I have not been able to scan them yet, so this is what I've got. I'm feeling that the little one on the right is more to my liking. I want it to be an adventurous comic, so I feel it needs to not be too realistically drawn for it to get the right feel that I want.

Bounty Hunter
Okay, so I was off to a sudden visit to
hospital to see my mom today, so I have only these sketches of a
character I'm working on for a project. More on that in the future. Near
or far future I don't know.
It may or may not have something to do with my "Snake Chase" piece. You may take a gander at that here in my portfolio.

Where in the World Was I? Part 6
A little late again, but a change of plans lead me to not be home yesterday. Anyways, here is part 6 of Where in the World Was I? Where can I have been this time?
ANWER: The Grand Canyon! Quite an awe inspiring place. I wish we could have stayed longer to do some rafting, hiking etc, but we could only do a jeep tour before it was off to the final destination of our trip. More on that later.

Where in the World Was I? Part 4
Here's another location. Can you guess where it is? It's at the place Robin Williams calls God's Etch n'Sketch.
ANSWER: The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Probably my favourite place during this trip, at least what cities goes. Union Square wasn't as nice as it should have been, concidering the high end shopping that was there, however the victorian areas, fisherman's warf and the golden gate park were all wonderful places.

Where in the World Was I? Part 3
I skipped last sunday's update, but I happened to be very busy, anyways here is a more impressionistic attempt of a water color sketch. I still have a long way to go, though. Also, where was I? Not at a place that has King Kong, that's for sure, but the same company owns him too, so he could have.
ANSWER: Universal Studios at the theme park capitol of the world: Orlando. A very nice place, actually, though the sudden sinkholes frighten me.

Where in the World Was I? Part 2
Heres round 2: Where was I? It's the House of Cards and they claim it's on a hill, though it seemed too flat to there to be a hill.
ANSWER: Washington D.C. of course. A very nice city, indeed. Smaller and not hustling and bustling like New York. Lovely architecture, clean. Alot of rozzers outside the white house, though. Also, the renovation theme was present here as well, because an earthquake at some point took a right instead of a left, got lost and ended up in D.C. back in 2011. As a result, the Washington monument was decorated with tarpolin and scaffolding. Bummer, but what can you do?

Where in the World Was I? Part 1
Hello? Anyone there? I'm finally back after three weeks of vacationing. And with it, some sketches done (some live, some not so live). And because of that I'm starting the segment called "where on the earth was I?" Essentially, I will post a sketch from one of the places I have been and you may guess where I have been. There are no prizes other than honour and glory, because it might be a bit easy and also because I am stingy. The answer will be further down the post. Also don't read the tags if you can help it (though it's really not that big of a deal).
And here is the first sketch. Where was I?
ANSWER: The Big Apple, of course. The first destination of my travels where New York. I quite liked it. Only Times Square managed to live up to my expections of what the over crowded streets I expect. I loved the many massive buildings and the architecture. Sadly, I could only take a boat trip around the statue of liberty as it was under renovation after the hurricane last year. Restorations will become a theme of my vacation. Stay tuned for the next destination next thursday.

Dwarves Are Not for Throwing
The original title was to be "Dwarves are not for Tossing", but I have a feeling there would be some UK residents who might have giggled at that title. Anyway, I drew a random fantasy dwarf this time around. This is my last update before my three week long US trip, så I cannot guarantee that I will post at the scheduled times during that period. I will try my best, though.

Colosseum
I am going on vacation soon and I decided to practice sketching by drawing the Colosseum from one of my pictures from last year. Enjoy.

Agent P
Disney may have made a lot of crap lately (at least on TV), but Phineas and Ferb is the gem in all the dung. I was quite surprised that I found myself laughing again at a cartoon. At any rate here is a character from the show: Perry the Platypus!
But that is not what this blog is going to be about. I am going to tell you why there was no blog post yesterday. I was at a conference thing, you see. It's called Visuelt and had mostly international design companies and illustrators talk about their business. Interesting indeed. If you are a design spawnling destined for greatness, perhaps graphis.com might get you started. The fellow who runs that magazine/website had a talk at the conference and they had running contests, which never stops. Whenever one contest is over, a follow up immediately begins, so that you may always submit work regardless of what time of the year it is. Also, the guy loved to use photographers and illustrators, urging other design studios to take care of them and utilize them.
Another speaker was the Felton-guy, a.k.a. one of the brains behind the Facebook-timeline. After hearing him talk, I completely understand why Facebook would like to know everything about you. The dude was the craziest statistics nerd I have ever seen. He kept records of his father's wereabouts through old photo's, receipts etc. He kept track of where he was every 90 minutes, with an app. This also included what he ate, what he was wearing, whether he was working or not, etc. That is what I can remember, but he kept on talking for 50 minutes about what statistics he kept and how he visualized them in the Felton Annual (I think it was.)
All in all quite interesting event that was topped with some strange, but bland food from a new hip and trendy catering service.

Eomer
At the moment I'm working on some Tolkien fan art, so until I have that done, I'd like to share with you an old sketch I had lying about. I think it's supposed to be Eomer.

Two For the Price of None
Ahoy-hoy! Here we are with yet another blog post and we're continuing the trend of last post by uploading some sketches. This time TWO for the price of none. Enjoy. I'm still trying to catch up after S.P.A.C.E. but I will post a three part series next sunday. Just some humorous spots. Will they make you laugh, giggle, shead a tear, smile, nod in approval, indifferent, or flip the table in anger? Time will tell.

Almost No Milk Today
This week have been hectic, hence the lacking update on Thursday. And today will not fare too much better. I've just come back from the local comic book convention called S.P.A.C.E. (not to be confused with the final frontier). I sold a few prints, yay. However, I haven't been able to have some art ready for this post, other than a sketch. It's something, I guess. It's a cockpit.
