This is a blog in the sign of art. My art. Mostly. Silliness may occur. This blog may be suddenly updated every Thursday and Sunday. Probably later than sooner on those days

Zodiac Fringe Cover 1
Hi! Here's some more Zodiac Fringe, my comic book in the works. Here's the first cover! Quickly summed up, the comic is about treasure hunters in space. Think Indiana Jones, but in space. Sort of. Anyway, my favourite comics as a kid were Carl Barks' and Don Rosa's disney comics, Tintin, Lucky Luke etc., so I decided to fuse my two favourite things: adventure comics and sci fi. I've been experimenting a lot with how to do this comic. Though it is a sci fi, it does have a 1930-40's flare as most of adventure franchises takes place during this era, so in addition to having designs that look like this time period, I'm trying to give the illustrations themselves a vintage look. This first cover is a mixed technique where I digitally coloured an inked gouache painting. I've moved away from this technique in later illustrations, but the same style and vintage flare is still there.
Anyway, the comic is still a while away, but it is starting to materialize.

Hazel Grimley
This is an updated version of the character found in my "Snake Chase" piece. More info on the universe she is a part of will come later when more stuff materializes. I keep the cards close to my chest, but I can say that inspiration from Firefly, Indiana Jones, Star Wars and so on and so forth. I can say that the lady is a bounty hunter and is called Hazel Grimley (for now, at least).
Pop over to my portfolio if you'd like to check out my "Snake Chase" piece to see what has changed (if you haven't already).

Snake Chase
Here's a quite vertical piece I did. It's based of a concept I came up with and would be part of a series of artworks/prints that takes place in the same universe. There is no name to this story and neither do the characters. Because I might delve deeper into this story, I'm keeping the cards close to my chest.
Needles to say, inspirations have been Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Firefly, Ducktales, Carl Barks/Don Rosa, Tintin, Drew Struzan etc.
